Its now over a year since you commenced The Management Development Programme with our directors and senior staff so I thought I would drop you a note to share my reflections and acknowledge your work with us.
This time last year Trevor and I were concerned that Company expansion and staff turnover were having an effect on moral and ownership. At that time it felt like we had to provide all the answers and do much of the ‘running’. Our aspiration was for an empowered and upbeat organization with staff taking responsibility for the companies success.
Prior to your programme company direction and strategy was down to the directors – mainly Trevor and I. Things are different now – through the IDON’s working groups our people have much more influence on strategy, improvement and resolution of problems. Our managers are now taking responsibility for sorting issues rather than just bringing them to me. Also the senior managers now operate as a team, communication seems easier and more effective. Business results are also on the up, turnover and profit are good for this year and prospects for 06 are excellent.
As you know programme feedback from the Team was excellent, everyone confirmed the objectives were achieved and your approach scored an average of 8 out of 10.
Personally I found the DSA approach to be excellent: your planning, meticulous organisation, facilitation, construction industry knowledge and use of innovative techniques such as IDONs all helped make the programme a success – which as I mentioned above is now translating into ‘hard measures’ business improvement.
Thanks for your support on this work Dave. We have made a good start with some pleasing results now coming through – I know there is still lots to do and look forward to working with you on further programmes.
